Danny Lyons is a solo handbell artist, handbell director, composer, and clinician who plays concerts and conducts clinics, festivals, and handbell classes regularly throughout the southeast and across the nation.  He has played solo handbell concerts all across the United States; in Paris; Liverpool, Novi Sad, Serbia; and in the Bahamas, and has recorded 2 CD’s and a concert DVD of solo handbell music, and is a published composer. Danny has been the director/clinician at over 20 handbell festivals around the country, including the Vermont State Handbell Festival 2018, the Florida State Handbell Festival (Youth) 2014, Texas Conference Choir Clinic 2019, and Lake Junaluska, NC in 2016 and 2019. 

As well as ringing solo handbell performances and festival teaching, Danny rings in the handbell quartet “Bellissimo!”, and is the director of Christ Church Ringers in Pensacola, Florida.

The Academy Vibrations was formed in the fall of 1992 by director Nancy Tipton at Bob Jones Academy, a private Christian school in Greenville, SC. The graded program now includes over 80 middle school students in three ensembles and over 40 high school students in two
ensembles. All of the ensembles perform without a conductor or are led by student conductors on select pieces. Students enjoy meeting daily and receiving curricular credit for their participation in handbells as they ring 3-octave, 4-octave, and 6-octave sets of Malmark bells and Choirchimes, supplemented with Schulmerich Silver Melody Bells and a variety of percussion, wind, and string instruments.
